Role: On-Field Cryo DPS / Normal Attack Carry
Best For: Players who want a powerful Cryo carry with a fast on-field playstyle, especially in teams built entirely around Cryo and Hydro characters.
1. Recommended Artifacts
4-Piece Finale of the Deep Galleries — Recommended for Skirk because it provides strong bonuses to both Normal Attack and Elemental Burst damage, matching her two main damage options.
Alternative: 4-Piece Marechaussee Hunter is especially strong when Skirk is paired with Furina, while 4-Piece Blizzard Strayer can perform well against enemies that can reliably be Frozen.
Finale of the Deep Galleries is generally the simplest all-purpose choice because it supports Skirk regardless of whether you emphasize her sustained Normal Attack gameplay or her Burst damage.
2. Recommended Weapons
Premium: Azurelight
Alternatives: Primordial Jade Cutter, Mistsplitter Reforged, Haran Geppaku Futsu
F2P: Finale of the Deep
Azurelight is Skirk’s signature weapon and provides CRIT Rate together with large offensive bonuses that work particularly well with her unusual Energy mechanics.
Other premium CRIT swords remain strong because Skirk benefits heavily from ATK and CRIT. Finale of the Deep is a particularly practical F2P choice because it is craftable and provides useful ATK for her damage.
3. Recommended Teams
Premium Freeze: Skirk + Furina + Escoffier + Shenhe
Freeze: Skirk + Furina + Escoffier + Citlali
Accessible Freeze: Skirk + Xingqiu + Escoffier + Layla
Skirk has an important team-building restriction: she strongly prefers teams composed only of Cryo and Hydro characters. Her passive becomes substantially stronger when the entire party follows this requirement.
Escoffier is one of her strongest partners because she combines off-field Cryo damage, healing, and large Cryo/Hydro RES reduction. Furina also fits naturally into these teams, providing off-field Hydro and a powerful teamwide damage buff.
4. Main Stats / Substats
Sands: ATK%
Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus / ATK%
Circlet: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Priority: CRIT → ATK%
Skirk wants a straightforward combination of CRIT and ATK for her damage. Cryo DMG Bonus is generally useful on the Goblet, although ATK% can also be competitive depending on her weapon and team buffs.
Unlike most characters, Skirk does not use Energy for her Elemental Burst. She instead uses a special resource called Serpent’s Subtlety, so Energy Recharge provides essentially no value to her build.
5. Playstyle
Set up the team’s Hydro and Cryo abilities first so they can generate Void Rifts, which Skirk uses to obtain Serpent’s Subtlety. Then switch to Skirk and use her Elemental Skill to enter her enhanced state and begin her main on-field attack sequence.
Skirk can use Serpent’s Subtlety in two main ways: sustained Cryo-infused Normal Attack gameplay or a powerful Elemental Burst. This gives her some flexibility depending on the encounter and rotation.
Because her teammates are primarily responsible for setting up reactions and buffs, they should generally use their abilities before Skirk takes the field.
6. F2P
Skirk does not require Azurelight to deal strong damage. Finale of the Deep is craftable and provides useful ATK, making it a practical F2P weapon for her.
Her team restrictions matter more than owning a signature weapon. F2P players should concentrate on building a functional Cryo/Hydro team around Skirk and improving her CRIT and ATK rather than investing anything into Energy Recharge.
Accessible Hydro and Cryo characters such as Xingqiu, Diona, and Rosaria can help form a functional team while stronger premium supports are added later.
*StoryBillion Tip: Do not build Energy Recharge on Skirk. Her Elemental Burst does not consume normal Energy—it uses Serpent’s Subtlety instead. This means ER substats provide no benefit, so prioritize CRIT and ATK when choosing between artifacts.
