Role: On-Field Cryo DPS / Melt Enabler
Best For: Players who want a flexible Cryo on-field character who works especially well with strong off-field damage dealers in Melt and Hexerei teams.
1. Recommended Artifacts
4-Piece A Day Carved From Rising Winds — Recommended for Lohen because it provides ATK and additional CRIT Rate that works naturally with his on-field damage-focused playstyle.
Alternative: 4-Piece Blizzard Strayer is a strong option in Freeze teams where enemies can consistently remain affected by Cryo or Frozen. Mixed ATK% and Cryo DMG sets can also work while farming a complete set.
A Day Carved From Rising Winds is generally the most flexible option because it does not restrict Lohen to Freeze and can be used effectively across his Melt, Hexerei, and other Cryo teams.
2. Recommended Weapons
Premium: Disaster and Remorse
Alternatives: Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, Calamity Queller, Staff of the Scarlet Sands
F2P: White Tassel
Disaster and Remorse is Lohen’s signature weapon and is designed around his on-field playstyle, providing strong offensive stats and bonuses that complement his Masterstroke state.
Lohen can still perform well without his signature weapon. Primordial Jade Winged-Spear provides useful CRIT Rate and ATK, while other offensive Polearms can remain competitive depending on their available stats and passives.
3. Recommended Teams
Hexerei Melt: Lohen + Durin + Nicole + Citlali
Accessible Melt: Lohen + Xiangling + Bennett + Sucrose
Freeze: Lohen + Furina + Escoffier + Mona
Lohen works particularly well with teammates who continue dealing substantial damage while he remains on-field. This is important because his Will to Win mechanic gains value from damage dealt by his teammates.
One of his strongest uses is also as a fast Cryo applier for Melt teams. Rather than every team focusing entirely on increasing Lohen’s personal damage, powerful off-field Pyro characters can take advantage of his frequent Cryo application to trigger Melt themselves.
4. Main Stats / Substats
Sands: ATK%
Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus
Circlet: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Priority: CRIT → ATK% → Elemental Mastery in Melt teams
Lohen generally follows a straightforward offensive build centered around CRIT and ATK. Elemental Mastery becomes more valuable when Lohen is personally triggering Melt, but it should not normally replace his core offensive stats.
Energy Recharge is not a major priority. His Elemental Skill contributes the majority of his damage, so sacrificing strong CRIT or ATK substats simply to guarantee his Burst every rotation is usually unnecessary.
5. Playstyle
Use Lohen’s Elemental Skill to enter Masterstroke, which converts his Normal and Charged Attacks into Cryo damage. Continue attacking to generate Joy, then spend that resource on his enhanced Elemental Skill attacks.
His teammates can also build Will to Win by dealing significant damage, which strengthens Lohen’s special Skill and Burst. Because of this mechanic, Lohen benefits from teammates who contribute meaningful off-field damage rather than functioning only as passive buffers.
Despite using Normal and Charged Attacks during Masterstroke, his converted attacks scale with his Elemental Skill Talent. Prioritize leveling his Skill first, followed by his Burst; his standard Normal Attack Talent is not an important investment.
6. F2P
Lohen does not require Disaster and Remorse to function as an on-field Cryo DPS. White Tassel is an accessible option, while other offensive Polearms can be used depending on what is already available on the account.
A budget Melt team using Xiangling, Bennett, and Sucrose can provide Lohen with Pyro application, buffs, and Elemental Mastery support without requiring multiple limited 5-star teammates.
F2P players should prioritize Lohen’s Elemental Skill, a strong CRIT balance, and well-built off-field teammates. His mechanics reward the overall strength of the team, so investing only in Lohen while neglecting his teammates can noticeably reduce his performance.
*StoryBillion Tip: Do not prioritize Lohen’s Normal Attack Talent just because most of his field time is spent using Normal and Charged Attacks. His Cryo-converted attacks during Masterstroke scale with his Elemental Skill Talent, making his Skill the most important talent to level.
