If you regularly farm Artifacts and materials from Investigation spots in Genshin Impact, you may have noticed that these interactable spots eventually stop appearing.
That’s because there is a daily Investigation limit in the open world.
However, reaching that limit doesn’t always mean your farming session has to end immediately. Investigation spots that have already been loaded nearby can remain available even after you reach the daily cap.
With the right route, this can let you collect more than 100 Investigation spots in a single day.
There Is a Daily Investigation Limit
Genshin Impact normally allows you to investigate up to 100 Investigation spots per day in the open world.
These are the sparkling interactable points you can find on objects such as crates, shelves, carts, campsites, and other locations.
Depending on the spot, investigating them can provide items such as:
- Low-rarity Artifacts
- Mora
- Ingredients
- Other miscellaneous materials
For players who farm Artifact Investigation spots regularly, the 100-spot limit is the important one.
Reaching 100 Doesn’t Always Remove Everything Immediately
The useful trick comes from how nearby Investigation spots are loaded.
When you reach the daily limit, new Investigation spots generally stop becoming available.
However, Investigation spots that have already loaded in the area around you can remain visible and interactable.
That means your 100th Investigation doesn’t necessarily have to be the final one you collect that day.
If you’re standing in an area containing several already-loaded spots when you hit the limit, you may be able to collect the remaining ones too.
Save an Area With Many Investigation Spots for the End
To take advantage of this, route planning matters.
Instead of reaching your 100th Investigation at a location with only one spot, save an area containing multiple Investigation spots for the end of your route.
The general idea is:
- Farm Investigation spots normally.
- Keep track of approximately how many you’ve collected.
- Stop before reaching the daily limit.
- Travel to an area containing several Investigation spots close together.
- Allow the nearby spots to load.
- Reach your 100th Investigation while those additional spots are already present.
- Collect the remaining loaded spots before leaving the area.
This can push your daily total above the normal 100-spot limit.
Don’t Teleport Away After Reaching the Limit
Once you’ve reached 100, be careful about leaving the area.
If you teleport somewhere else expecting additional Investigation spots to appear, they generally won’t.
The trick works because the extra spots were already loaded before or as you reached the limit.
So after reaching your 100th Investigation, finish collecting the other visible Investigation spots in that area before teleporting away.
Areas With Several Spots Close Together Work Better

If your final farming location only contains one or two spots, going beyond the cap won’t make much difference.
A location with many nearby Investigation points gives you a better opportunity to collect additional spots after reaching 100.

You Don’t Need to Reach Exactly 99 First
You don’t necessarily have to count every single Investigation and arrive at the final area with exactly 99 collected.
The important part is reaching the daily limit after the Investigation spots in your final farming area have loaded.
Still, keeping a rough count can make the method easier and prevent you from accidentally reaching 100 too early.
If you hit the limit before arriving at your planned final location, those Investigation spots may no longer appear when you get there.
This Is Most Useful for Artifact Farming
You can obtain low-rarity Artifacts from many Investigation spots, which can then be used as Artifact EXP.
For casual exploration, going beyond 100 Investigations probably isn’t something you need to worry about.
But if you’re deliberately running Artifact Investigation routes every day, squeezing additional spots out of the same daily farming session can provide a little more Artifact EXP over time.
The benefit becomes more noticeable for players who repeat these routes regularly.
Remember That Investigation Spots Respawn
Investigation spots aren’t permanently consumed when you collect them.
They respawn after their respective reset periods, allowing farming routes to be repeated.
Because different Investigation spots can have different respawn behavior, your exact route and timing can affect which ones are available when you return.
If you farm them regularly, following a consistent route and schedule makes the process easier to manage.

If you want to collect more than 100 Investigation spots in a day, don’t use your 100th Investigation at an isolated location.
