Ganyu

4-Piece Blizzard Strayer — Recommended for Freeze Ganyu because the large CRIT Rate bonus against Cryo-affected or Frozen enemies allows her to focus more heavily on CRIT DMG.
Alternative: 4-Piece Wanderer’s Troupe is a strong option for Melt Ganyu, providing Elemental Mastery and increased Charged Attack damage.

Premium: The First Great Magic / Amos’ Bow
Alternatives: Aqua Simulacra, Polar Star, Astral Vulture’s Crimson Plumage
F2P: Prototype Crescent / Hamayumi

Ganyu has several strong Bow options because much of her on-field damage comes from Frostflake Arrow Charged Attacks. Prototype Crescent is particularly effective when enemies have weak points, while Hamayumi provides a more consistent craftable option for Melt teams.

Freeze: Ganyu + Mona + Diona + Kazuha
Melt: Ganyu + Xiangling + Bennett + Zhongli
Burn-Melt: Ganyu + Nahida + Bennett + Dehya

Freeze teams make Ganyu’s Charged Attacks safer while taking advantage of Blizzard Strayer, while Melt teams trade that control for substantially stronger Frostflake Arrow reaction damage.

Sands: ATK% / Elemental Mastery for Melt
Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus
Circlet: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Priority: CRIT → Elemental Mastery in Melt → ATK%

Freeze Ganyu requires less CRIT Rate because Blizzard Strayer, Cryo Resonance, and her passive can provide additional CRIT Rate. Melt builds cannot rely on these bonuses as consistently, so they should maintain a more balanced CRIT ratio.

Ganyu’s signature attack is her Level 2 Charged Attack, which fires a Frostflake Arrow followed by an AoE Frostflake Bloom. Keep enough distance or use shielding so she can fully charge her shots without being interrupted.

In Freeze teams, use her Burst alongside Hydro application before firing Charged Attacks. In many Melt teams, her Burst is often avoided because its repeated Cryo hits can interfere with the Pyro aura needed for her Charged Attacks to trigger Melt.

Ganyu is relatively F2P-friendly because both Prototype Crescent and Hamayumi are craftable Bows that work well with her Charged Attack playstyle.

Prototype Crescent performs especially well when its weak-point passive can be activated, while Hamayumi is a useful Melt alternative when maintaining its Energy-based passive. F2P players should prioritize her Normal Attack Talent because it directly improves her Frostflake Arrow and Bloom damage.
