Role: Anemo Support / Healer / Swirl Driver
Best For: Players who want healing, Viridescent Venerer support, and a highly mobile Anemo character for reaction-focused teams.
1. Recommended Artifacts
4-Piece Viridescent Venerer — Recommended for Sayu because it increases Swirl damage and reduces enemy resistance to the element she Swirls.
Alternative: 4-Piece Deepwood Memories can be used in Dendro-focused teams when no other teammate carries it, while Ocean-Hued Clam can convert her healing into additional damage.
2. Recommended Weapons
Premium: Skyward Pride
Alternatives: Sacrificial Greatsword, Mailed Flower
F2P: Favonius Greatsword / Katsuragikiri Nagamasa
Favonius Greatsword is especially useful for Sayu’s off-field support build because her Burst has high Energy requirements. Katsuragikiri Nagamasa is a craftable alternative that provides Energy Recharge and restores additional Energy through its passive.
3. Recommended Teams
Aggravate: Sayu + Nahida + Fischl + Yae Miko
Hyperbloom: Sayu + Nahida + Kokomi + Kuki Shinobu
Melt: Sayu + Kaeya + Xiangling + Bennett
Sayu can function as an off-field healer and Viridescent Venerer holder or remain on-field using her rolling Skill to trigger Swirl and other reactions. Her flexibility allows her to fill the healer and Anemo support roles simultaneously.
4. Main Stats / Substats
Sands: Energy Recharge / ATK% / Elemental Mastery
Goblet: ATK% / Elemental Mastery
Circlet: Healing Bonus / ATK% / Elemental Mastery
Priority: Energy Recharge → ATK% / Elemental Mastery → CRIT Rate with Favonius
Sayu’s healing scales primarily with ATK, while Elemental Mastery improves her Swirl damage. At C6, EM also contributes directly to her healing, making Elemental Mastery considerably more valuable for builds that combine healing and reaction damage.
5. Playstyle
For off-field support, use a quick Hold Skill followed by her Whirlwind Kick to generate Energy and trigger Swirl, then activate her Burst before switching to another character.
Her Burst summons Muji-Muji Daruma, which provides healing while also dealing Anemo damage. Sayu can alternatively remain on-field with her Hold Skill, rolling through enemies and absorbing Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo to trigger frequent reactions. Prioritize Burst > Skill for off-field support.
6. F2P
Sayu performs her support role without a 5-star weapon. Favonius Greatsword is an excellent accessible option when available, while Katsuragikiri Nagamasa is permanently craftable and helps with her Energy requirements.
F2P players should prioritize enough Energy Recharge to maintain her Burst, then balance ATK for healing and Elemental Mastery for Swirl damage. Level 90 is especially useful for reaction-focused builds because Swirl damage scales strongly with character level.
*StoryBillion Tip: Instead of simply tapping Sayu’s Skill, briefly hold it and immediately end the roll with another Skill input. This “Quick Hold” technique can trigger two Swirls and generate three Anemo particles, making it an efficient way to gain Energy without keeping Sayu on-field for long.
