Role: Bloom Support / Bountiful Core Enabler
Best For: Hydro and Dendro teams focused on producing powerful Bountiful Cores and dealing strong AoE reaction damage.
1. Recommended Artifacts
2-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith + 2-Piece Vourukasha’s Glow — The recommended general setup for Nilou. Combining both sets provides a large HP% increase, directly improving the Bountiful Core damage bonus provided by her passive.
Alternative: 2-Piece HP% + 2-Piece Elemental Mastery — A useful option when Nilou already has plenty of Max HP and also triggers some Blooms herself. For most players, however, maximizing HP remains the simpler and more consistent approach.
2. Recommended Weapons
Premium: Key of Khaj-Nisut
Alternatives: The Dockhand’s Assistant, Xiphos’ Moonlight
F2P: Iron Sting
Key of Khaj-Nisut is especially powerful because it provides a large amount of HP while also converting Nilou’s HP into Elemental Mastery for herself and her teammates. The Dockhand’s Assistant is a useful 4-star alternative because it also provides the valuable HP% stat.
For a fully accessible option, Iron Sting provides Elemental Mastery and requires no Wishes. It cannot provide the HP of Nilou’s stronger weapon choices, but it still works well enough for her main Bountiful Bloom role.
3. Recommended Teams
Double Hydro Bloom: Nilou + Kokomi + Nahida + Yaoyao
Accessible Bloom: Nilou + Barbara + Collei + Dendro Traveler
Triple Hydro Bloom: Nilou + Kokomi + Yelan + Nahida
Nilou’s Bountiful Bloom passive requires the entire party to consist only of Hydro and Dendro characters. When this condition is met, ordinary Dendro Cores are converted into Bountiful Cores that explode quickly and deal increased AoE damage.
A strong healer is highly recommended because Bountiful Cores also damage your own characters. Kokomi, Barbara, Yaoyao, and other suitable Hydro or Dendro healers can keep the team healthy while maintaining Nilou’s elemental restriction.
4. Main Stats / Substats
Sands: HP%
Goblet: HP%
Circlet: HP%
Substats: HP% > Elemental Mastery > Energy Recharge as needed > Flat HP
Nilou is unusual because a standard CRIT-focused DPS build is not the priority for her Bountiful Bloom teams. Her passive increases Bountiful Core damage according to her Max HP, making HP% the most important stat for her standard build.
5. Playstyle
Use Nilou’s Elemental Skill and complete the sequence that creates her Tranquility Aura, then switch to the rest of the team. Apply Dendro and Hydro repeatedly to generate large numbers of Bountiful Cores while Nilou’s passive strengthens their damage.
Nilou generally does not need much field time in her standard Bloom teams. Her main contribution comes from enabling Bountiful Cores, so maintaining elemental application and keeping the team alive is more important than trying to maximize Nilou’s own attacks.
6. F2P
Nilou is surprisingly F2P-friendly because Bountiful Bloom teams can perform well without expensive weapons or highly optimized CRIT artifacts. Iron Sting is craftable, while Barbara, Collei, and Dendro Traveler can form an accessible team around her.
Her signature weapon is a substantial upgrade, but it is not necessary for the basic team to function. Prioritize Nilou’s character level and HP, then invest in the teammates responsible for applying Hydro and Dendro and surviving Bloom self-damage.
StoryBillion Tip: Don’t accidentally add a Pyro, Electro, Cryo, Anemo, or Geo character to Nilou’s standard Bloom team. Her Bountiful Core passive requires the party to contain only Hydro and Dendro characters, so breaking that condition removes the main reason to use her.
