Kinich

4-Piece Obsidian Codex — Recommended for Kinich because his Nightsoul-based gameplay activates the set reliably, providing a large CRIT Rate bonus and additional damage for his main attacks.

Alternative: 4-Piece Unfinished Reverie is a strong option in Burning teams, especially if you already have a good set available. However, Obsidian Codex generally provides better overall performance and is the preferred set to farm specifically for Kinich.

Kinich normally should not carry 4-Piece Deepwood Memories himself. If possible, give Deepwood to another teammate so Kinich can use Obsidian Codex while still benefiting from the enemy’s reduced Dendro RES.

Premium: Fang of the Mountain King
Alternatives: A Thousand Blazing Suns, Beacon of the Reed Sea, Serpent Spine
F2P: Earth Shaker

Fang of the Mountain King is Kinich’s signature weapon and works particularly well with his kit, providing strong Skill and Burst damage bonuses while rewarding the Burning and Burgeon reactions he already wants to trigger.

Earth Shaker is an excellent craftable F2P option. Its passive increases Elemental Skill damage after a party member triggers a Pyro-related reaction, which matches Kinich’s intended team compositions particularly well.

Burning: Kinich + Mavuika + Emilie + Bennett
Burning: Kinich + Xiangling + Emilie + Bennett
Burgeon: Kinich + Thoma + Furina + Bennett

Kinich strongly benefits from teams that maintain Burning or Burgeon because these reactions restore additional Nightsoul points while enemies are affected by his Desolation state. More Nightsoul points allow him to fire his powerful Scalespiker Cannon more frequently during his Skill.

Off-field Pyro application is therefore particularly valuable. Mavuika, Xiangling, Thoma, and similar characters can maintain the reactions Kinich needs without taking away his field time, while Emilie fits naturally into Burning-focused teams.

Sands: ATK%
Goblet: Dendro DMG Bonus
Circlet: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Priority: CRIT → ATK% → Energy Recharge if needed

Kinich primarily scales as a conventional ATK-based Dendro damage dealer. Obsidian Codex already provides a large amount of CRIT Rate, so account for its bonus when balancing CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.

Energy Recharge is not a major priority because Kinich’s Elemental Burst is not the main source of his personal damage. If using his Burst every rotation would require excessive ER investment, it is perfectly reasonable to use it only when available instead.

Use your supports and establish off-field Pyro application before switching to Kinich. Activate his Elemental Skill to enter Nightsoul’s Blessing, attach to an enemy, and begin circling the target while attacking.

His regular Loop Shots generate Nightsoul points. Once enough points are accumulated, use his Skill again to fire a powerful Scalespiker Cannon. Burning and Burgeon reactions accelerate this process, allowing Kinich to fire more Cannons during the same Skill window.

Most of Kinich’s damage comes from his Elemental Skill and Scalespiker Cannons, so prioritize his Skill first when leveling talents. His Burst provides additional Dendro damage but is less important to his overall damage than his Skill.

Kinich has a particularly good F2P weapon in Earth Shaker, which is craftable and directly supports his Elemental Skill damage in Pyro reaction teams. His signature weapon is therefore useful but not required for strong performance.

He also works with accessible teammates such as Bennett, Xiangling, and Thoma. A teammate using 4-Piece Deepwood Memories can further improve Kinich’s damage without requiring Kinich to sacrifice Obsidian Codex.

F2P players should prioritize obtaining a strong Obsidian Codex set, leveling Earth Shaker, and investing heavily into Kinich’s Elemental Skill rather than spending resources trying to Burst every rotation.
