How Do You Normally Unlock the Xanthe Fight?
The normal route is to raise Xanthe’s Anger by disrupting her Court Activities.
Xanthe has her own group of Court Activities involving operations such as recruiters, transports, excavations, and Blood Guards.
Completing these activities increases her Anger toward Coen.
Once you have disrupted enough of her operations, the game opens the story route that eventually leads to The Cycle of Love, Xanthe’s main confrontation quest.
This is the route the game naturally directs you toward if you follow the Court system.
Can You Find Xanthe Before Maxing Her Anger?
Yes. Xanthe can be encountered in Svartrau Cathedral at night before you complete the normal Anger route.
This makes her different from a boss who exists only inside a quest that must first be unlocked.
If you reach the cathedral and find Xanthe there, you can confront her directly rather than spending additional Time Segments completing enough Court Activities to force her normal boss quest.
That can be especially useful if you are getting close to the 30-day deadline.

Look for Xanthe inside Svartrau Cathedral at night.
The cathedral provides an alternate route to reaching her without first maxing out her Anger through Court Activities.
You will need to get inside and reach Xanthe rather than waiting for the game to initiate her normal confrontation through the Court system.
Because this bypasses part of her intended progression, finding her early can feel like you have reached an encounter before you were supposed to.
However, the game allows the confrontation.
Does Fighting Xanthe Early Skip The Cycle of Love?
Fighting Xanthe directly bypasses the normal Court Activity route used to unlock The Cycle of Love.
Normally, raising Xanthe’s Anger eventually leads into the quest and its associated content.
Going directly to Xanthe means you are choosing the shortcut to the confrontation instead.
That is an important tradeoff if you are deciding whether saving Time Segments is worth missing some of the normal quest progression.
If this is your first playthrough and you are not under serious time pressure, following the regular Court Activity route will let you experience more of Xanthe’s content before confronting her.

However, skipping the activities also means skipping content, rewards, and opportunities you could have encountered while disrupting her operations.

Is It Better to Raise Xanthe’s Anger First?
For a normal first playthrough, raising her Anger first is generally the better route if you have enough time remaining.
Completing Xanthe’s Court Activities gives you more of the content surrounding her and naturally leads into her confrontation.
The direct cathedral route is more useful when:
- You are running short on Time Segments.
- You mainly want to progress toward Brencis.
- You do not care about completing all of Xanthe’s associated content.
- You deliberately want to confront her earlier.
If you still have plenty of time, there is less reason to rush directly to Xanthe.
What Happens to Xanthe’s Court Activities If You Fight Her Early?
Defeating Xanthe early does not automatically make all of her remaining Court Activities disappear.
This is important because finding Xanthe unexpectedly can make it seem as though you need to reload immediately or risk losing everything connected to her.

Remaining activities can still be available afterward, so encountering Xanthe early is not automatically a ruined playthrough.
