How to Use Long-Term Encounter Points to Skip Daily Commissions in Genshin Impact

Daily Commissions are one of the regular ways to earn Primogems in Genshin Impact, but you don’t always have to complete four Commission quests manually.

The Encounter Points system allows certain activities you may already be doing—such as exploring or completing quests—to count toward your daily Commission rewards.

And with Long-Term Encounter Points, some of that progress can be saved for later and used on days when you simply want to finish your Daily Commissions quickly.

Long-Term Encounter Points are stored Encounter Points that can be accumulated when you earn more Encounter Points than you need for that day’s Daily Commission rewards.

Instead of all of that extra progress going unused, eligible excess Encounter Points can be stored as Long-Term Encounter Points.

You can then use those stored points on another day to help complete your daily Commission progress.

This means progress from a day when you’re actively exploring or completing content can make your routine faster on another day.

You can accumulate Long-Term Encounter Points by completing activities that normally provide Encounter Points after you’ve already earned enough Encounter Points for your daily rewards.

Eligible activities can include things you may already be doing while playing, such as:

  • Completing certain quests
  • Opening chests
  • Collecting Oculi
  • Completing some exploration objectives
  • Participating in eligible events

When eligible Encounter Point progress exceeds what you need for the day, the excess can contribute toward your Long-Term Encounter Points.

So you don’t necessarily need to perform a separate activity just to build them up.

Having Long-Term Encounter Points stored isn’t enough by itself.

To convert them into daily Encounter Point progress, you need to consume Original Resin.

As you spend Original Resin on normal activities, stored Long-Term Encounter Points can be converted into the Encounter Points needed for your Daily Commission rewards.

This lets you combine two things you may already want to do:

Spend your Resin → Use stored Long-Term Encounter Points → Complete daily Commission progress

Instead of separately completing four Commission quests afterward, your normal Resin spending can help take care of the daily requirement.

Using 30 Original Resin converts enough Long-Term Encounter Points to count toward one Commission’s worth of daily progress.

That means 120 Original Resin can provide enough progress for all four Daily Commission rewards, assuming you have enough Long-Term Encounter Points stored.

You don’t have to spend all 120 Resin at once.

Your normal Resin activities can gradually convert the stored points as you play.

Long-Term Encounter Points can replace the progress you would normally get from completing Daily Commissions, but don’t forget to actually claim the rewards.

Once you’ve filled the four daily Commission reward slots, open the Adventurer Handbook and claim the available rewards.

You should also make sure to claim the additional Daily Commission reward from Katheryne at the Adventurers’ Guild after completing the day’s required progress.

Skipping the Commission quests doesn’t mean skipping the reward-claiming step.

You don’t necessarily need to use your stored points every day.

They can be particularly useful when:

  • You don’t feel like completing four Daily Commissions
  • You’re short on time
  • You’re already planning to spend Resin
  • You’ve been doing a lot of exploration or quests
  • You want to finish your daily routine quickly

On days when you actually want to complete a particular Commission, you can still do it normally.

The system gives you another option rather than forcing you to stop doing Daily Commissions entirely.

Skipping Daily Commissions can save time, but there is a reason you may not always want to do it.

Some Commission quest chains, NPC interactions, or Commission-related achievements require you to actually receive and complete specific Daily Commissions.

Using Encounter Points to finish your daily rewards does not complete those Commission quests for you.

So if one of your available Commissions is connected to an achievement or quest you’re trying to finish, consider completing that Commission manually before using Long-Term Encounter Points for the remaining progress.

One important detail is that stored Long-Term Encounter Points are subject to a reset.

They reset when a new major Version X.0 update arrives.

For example, points accumulated during one major version cycle shouldn’t be treated as something you can permanently save for future major regions and version cycles.

If you’ve built up a large amount, it’s worth using them during the current cycle instead of trying to preserve them indefinitely.

If you already have plenty of Long-Term Encounter Points stored, your daily routine can be very short:

  1. Log in.
  2. Spend Original Resin on the activities you need.
  3. Let your stored Long-Term Encounter Points convert into daily Encounter Point progress.
  4. Check the Adventurer Handbook.
  5. Claim your Daily Commission rewards.
  6. Visit Katheryne and claim the additional daily reward.

You can then move on to whatever you actually wanted to do instead of completing four separate Commission quests.

If you’ve accumulated Long-Term Encounter Points, don’t forget they’re there.

Spend Resin → Convert stored Long-Term Encounter Points → Fill your daily Commission progress → Claim your rewards.

With enough stored points, spending 120 Original Resin can cover all four Daily Commission reward slots, making this one of the easiest ways to shorten your daily Genshin Impact routine.
