Snezhnaya is now available to explore in Genshin Impact, and reaching the region is easier than many players may expect.
You do not need to complete every previous Archon Quest before traveling to Snezhnaya. Even newer or returning players can unlock access after meeting a relatively small set of requirements.
Snezhnaya Unlock Requirements
To unlock access to Snezhnaya, you need to:
- Reach Adventure Rank 18 or higher
- Complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III – “Song of the Dragon and Freedom”
Once you have completed these requirements, a Teleport Waypoint in Snezhnaya automatically unlocks, allowing you to travel directly to the region.
You can then begin Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act I – “Everwinter Without Mercy.”
What Quest Unlocks Snezhnaya?
The main prerequisite for reaching Snezhnaya is:
Archon Quest Prologue: Act III – “Song of the Dragon and Freedom.”
This is the final act of the Mondstadt Archon Quest storyline.
If you have already completed this quest and meet the Adventure Rank requirement, you do not need to replay it. The Snezhnaya Teleport Waypoint should become available automatically.
What Adventure Rank Do You Need for Snezhnaya?
You need to be at least Adventure Rank 18 to begin Snezhnaya’s Chapter VII Archon Quest.
Players who have already progressed beyond the early parts of Genshin Impact will therefore likely meet the Adventure Rank requirement automatically.
If you are below Adventure Rank 18, continue completing quests, exploring the world, opening chests, and completing other activities that award Adventure EXP.
Do You Need to Finish Natlan Before Going to Snezhnaya?
No. You do not need to complete the Natlan Archon Quest before going to Snezhnaya.
Genshin Impact allows eligible players to reach Snezhnaya without completing the entire chain of preceding regional Archon Quests.
This makes it possible for newer or returning players to access the region without first completing every major storyline released before Snezhnaya.

Why Can’t I Enter Snezhnaya?
If Snezhnaya still appears inaccessible, check these requirements first:
- Make sure you have reached Adventure Rank 18
- Make sure you have completed “Song of the Dragon and Freedom”
- Check your map for the automatically unlocked Snezhnaya Teleport Waypoint
- Check your Quest menu for Chapter VII: Act I – “Everwinter Without Mercy”
If you meet both main requirements, you should not need to complete every previous Archon Quest simply to reach Snezhnaya.
How to Get to Snezhnaya
After completing “Song of the Dragon and Freedom,” the game automatically unlocks a Teleport Waypoint in Snezhnaya.
Open your world map, locate the unlocked waypoint in the Snezhnaya region, and teleport there.
From there, you can begin exploring the region and progress into the Snezhnaya Archon Quest.
Can New Players Go to Snezhnaya?
Yes.
Because the basic requirement is only Adventure Rank 18 plus completion of the Mondstadt Archon Quest Prologue: Act III, players do not have to finish years of Archon Quest content before reaching Snezhnaya.
This is especially useful for returning players who want to experience the newest region without immediately catching up on every previous chapter.
