Role: ATK Buffer / Electro Support
Best For: Players who want a powerful ATK buffer for mobile on-field damage dealers, especially characters who naturally move frequently during combat.
1. Recommended Artifacts
4-Piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City — Recommended for Iansan because she can activate its full effect as a Natlan character, providing a large Elemental DMG Bonus to the team while also helping with her Energy needs.
Alternative: 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige provides a teamwide ATK buff after using her Burst and is especially useful when another teammate is already using Scroll.
Scroll is generally the most useful choice because Iansan can combine her own ATK buff with the artifact set’s teamwide damage bonus in a single support slot.
2. Recommended Weapons
Premium: Engulfing Lightning / Calamity Queller
Alternatives: Favonius Lance, Tamayuratei no Ohanashi
F2P: The Catch
Iansan needs both ATK and enough Energy Recharge to use her Burst consistently. Engulfing Lightning provides both, while Calamity Queller offers a large amount of ATK for strengthening her buff.
Favonius Lance is particularly practical because it provides Energy Recharge and can generate additional particles for the team. If using it, build enough CRIT Rate to activate its passive reliably.
The Catch is obtainable without wishing and provides a large amount of Energy Recharge, making it a straightforward F2P option when Burst uptime is the priority.
3. Recommended Teams
Varesa Carry: Iansan + Varesa + Furina + Xianyun
Varesa Overload: Iansan + Varesa + Mavuika + Chevreuse
Mavuika Overload: Iansan + Mavuika + Ororon + Chevreuse
Iansan works especially well with characters such as Varesa and Mavuika because their gameplay naturally involves frequent movement, helping maintain the Nightsoul Points connected to Iansan’s ATK buff.
She is not limited to Natlan characters, however. Mobile ATK-scaling damage dealers such as Arlecchino can also benefit from her buff, although some characters may need additional movement during their rotations to maintain its full value.
4. Main Stats / Substats
Sands: ATK% / Energy Recharge
Goblet: ATK%
Circlet: ATK% / CRIT Rate with Favonius Lance
Priority: Energy Recharge → ATK% → CRIT Rate with Favonius Lance
Iansan’s Burst is the core of her support role, so having enough Energy Recharge to use it every rotation should come first. After reaching comfortable Burst uptime, ATK% becomes the main priority because her buff scales with her own ATK.
Unlike Bennett, whose buff depends on Base ATK, Iansan benefits from increasing her total ATK. This makes ATK% artifact stats directly useful for strengthening her support.
5. Playstyle
Use Iansan’s Elemental Skill and then activate her Elemental Burst before switching to the team’s main damage dealer. Her Burst creates the Kinetic Energy Scale, which provides an ATK buff to the active character.
The strength of Iansan’s support depends partly on maintaining her Nightsoul Points. Movement by the active character helps sustain them, so characters who dash, plunge, run, or otherwise move frequently can maintain her buff more naturally.
Because her buff follows the active character rather than being restricted to a small field on the ground, Iansan also gives mobile damage dealers much more freedom to move during combat.
6. F2P
Iansan does not require a 5-star weapon to function as a strong ATK buffer. Favonius Lance is an excellent support option when available, while The Catch provides an accessible source of Energy Recharge without requiring wishes.
F2P players should prioritize reliable Burst uptime first and then increase Iansan’s ATK. Expensive offensive stats are unnecessary because her main purpose is strengthening the active character rather than dealing large amounts of personal damage.
Her compatibility with different ATK-scaling carries also means she can remain useful even as the characters on an account change over time.
*StoryBillion Tip: Iansan’s ATK buff rewards movement. Characters such as Varesa and Mavuika naturally move enough during their normal gameplay to maintain it, while less mobile characters may need extra dashes or movement during their rotations to get the same value from her support.
