Lan Yan’s shield scales with ATK, making ATK% her primary stat for a dedicated shield-support build. Her Burst is useful for grouping and additional utility, but she does not necessarily need to use it every rotation, so her Energy Recharge requirements depend heavily on the team.
5. Playstyle
Use Lan Yan’s Elemental Skill to create her shield and trigger Swirl for Viridescent Venerer before switching to your main damage dealer. Her shield can absorb Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo and gains increased absorption against the absorbed element.
Her Elemental Burst deals AoE Anemo damage and provides some grouping, but her Skill is the most important part of a standard shield-support build. Prioritize Skill → Burst while Normal Attacks can generally remain unleveled.
6. F2P
Lan Yan is highly accessible because her support role does not require a 5-star Catalyst. Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is a 3-star weapon that can provide a powerful ATK buff, while craftable options such as Hakushin Ring and Prototype Amber offer additional utility.
F2P players should prioritize ATK% to strengthen Lan Yan’s shield rather than investing heavily into her personal damage. Viridescent Venerer and an appropriate support weapon allow her to provide substantial team utility with relatively inexpensive equipment.
