Genshin Impact has many useful Gadgets, but constantly opening your inventory just to switch between them can become annoying while exploring.
Fortunately, you don’t have to return to the inventory every time.
The Gadget Quick Swap feature lets you prepare multiple Gadgets and switch between them directly while playing.
Add Multiple Gadgets to Quick Swap
Open your inventory and go to the Gadget section.
From there, you can configure your Gadget Quick Swap setup and select the Gadgets you want to have readily available.
You can place up to four Gadgets in the Quick Swap menu.
This is useful if you regularly switch between exploration tools instead of using the same Gadget all the time.
For example, you might keep several commonly used exploration Gadgets ready so you don’t have to search through your inventory whenever you need one.
Switch Gadgets While Exploring
Once you’ve added Gadgets to Quick Swap, you can access the Gadget switching interface during gameplay.
Open the Gadget Quick Swap menu, select the Gadget you want, and switch to it without going back through the full inventory menu.
The exact controls depend on the platform you’re playing on, so follow the Gadget Quick Swap prompt shown on your screen.
After switching, the selected Gadget becomes your currently equipped Gadget and can be used normally.
Choose Gadgets You Actually Use Often
Since Quick Swap has a limited number of slots, it makes sense to reserve them for Gadgets you regularly use.
Good candidates are tools that you frequently need while exploring or moving between different activities.
If you find yourself repeatedly opening your inventory to equip the same few Gadgets, those are probably the ones worth putting into Quick Swap.
You can change the selection later whenever your priorities change.
Some Exploration Gadgets Can Switch Automatically
There is another useful convenience feature that can make Gadget management even easier.
Since Version 5.2, certain exploration Gadgets can be automatically added to Quick Swap when you enter the region where they are useful.
This applies to regional tools such as Treasure Compasses and Oculus Resonance Stones.
For example, entering a different region can make the appropriate regional exploration Gadget available without requiring you to manually reorganize your Quick Swap setup every time.
This is especially convenient if you’re moving between regions while searching for exploration collectibles.
You Can Still Change Your Quick Swap Setup
Automatic Gadget behavior doesn’t mean you’re stuck with one setup.
You can still manage your Gadget Quick Swap selection and decide which tools you want readily available.
Think of the system as a shortcut rather than a replacement for the Gadget inventory.
If your current activity changes—for example, from general exploration to searching for collectibles—you can adjust the Gadgets you keep available.
Quick Swap Is Especially Useful During Exploration
The time saved by Quick Swap may seem small, but it adds up.
Genshin Impact has accumulated many Gadgets over the years, and some activities require switching between different tools fairly often.
Instead of:
Open Inventory → Find Gadget tab → Find Gadget → Equip → Close Inventory
you can prepare your commonly used Gadgets beforehand and switch between them through Quick Swap.
It’s a small quality-of-life feature, but once you start using it, exploring can feel noticeably smoother.
Quick Tip
If you regularly use several Gadgets, don’t equip them one at a time from your inventory.
Set up Gadget Quick Swap with up to four Gadgets, then switch between them directly while exploring.
And when traveling between regions, keep an eye on the Quick Swap menu—some regional exploration Gadgets can be made available automatically.
