You have the Seed Dispensary in your inventory.
You collect flowers and plants while exploring.
But when you return to your Serenitea Pot, you realize you still do not have the Seeds you expected.
So why isn’t the Seed Dispensary working?
The most common reason is simple:
You need to equip the Seed Dispensary before collecting eligible plants.
Simply owning the Gadget is not enough.
There are also other reasons you may not receive Seeds, including collecting a plant that does not provide Seeds or reaching the storage limit for that Seed type.
Here is what to check.
Do You Have to Equip the Seed Dispensary?
Yes.
The Seed Dispensary must be equipped as your active Gadget for its Seed-collecting effect to work.
Having it somewhere in your inventory does not automatically activate it.
So if you:
Own Seed Dispensary
↓
Do not equip it
↓
Collect a supported plant
you will receive the normal plant material, but not the additional Seed from the Gadget.
This is why the Seed Dispensary can seem like it is broken when you first obtain it.
How Do You Equip the Seed Dispensary?
Open your Inventory and go to the Gadget section.
Find:
Seed Dispensary
and equip it.
Once it is equipped, you can return to the open world and collect eligible plants normally.
You do not need to press the Gadget button every time you find a plant.
The Seed collection happens as part of collecting the eligible plant while the Seed Dispensary is equipped.
Do You Have to Activate the Seed Dispensary Before Every Plant?
No.
You do not need to manually use the Seed Dispensary every time you approach a flower.
Once equipped, its relevant collection effect works while you gather eligible plants.
The process is simply:
Equip Seed Dispensary
↓
Find an eligible plant
↓
Collect the plant
↓
Receive the plant + its Seed
So if you have been trying to press the Gadget button next to every flower, that is not how its Seed collection mechanic works.
Do You Lose the Plant When You Get a Seed?
No.
The Seed does not replace the plant you collect.
When the Seed Dispensary works on an eligible plant, you receive:
the original plant material
and:
the corresponding Seed
So you are not choosing between collecting a flower for normal materials and collecting its Seed.
You can receive both.
Does Every Plant Give You a Seed?
No.
This is the second major reason the Seed Dispensary can appear not to work.
Only certain plants have Seeds that can be collected and planted in the Serenitea Pot.
If the plant you collect does not have a corresponding supported Seed, equipping the Seed Dispensary will not magically create one.
So:
Seed Dispensary equipped + random collectible plant
does not always equal:
Seed obtained.
The plant must be one of the supported gardening plants.
Which Plants Can Give Seeds?
The Seed Dispensary works with plants that have corresponding Seeds used by the Serenitea Pot’s gardening system.
Examples include plants such as:
- Sweet Flower
- Mint
- Carrot
- Radish
- Mushroom
- Valberry
- Small Lamp Grass
- Jueyun Chili
- Silk Flower
- Glaze Lily
- Qingxin
- Violetgrass
- Naku Weed
- Sea Ganoderma
- Sango Pearl
- Dendrobium
There are additional supported plants as well.
The important thing is that not every collectible material in the open world belongs to the gardening system.
Why Did I Collect a Plant but Get No Seed?
Check these things in order.
1. Was the Seed Dispensary equipped?
If not, this is probably the reason.
2. Does that plant have a collectible Seed?
Not every plant does.
3. Are you already carrying the maximum amount of that Seed?
Seed storage has a limit.
If you have reached it, you cannot continue collecting additional copies normally.
If all three conditions look correct, then check your Seed inventory carefully before assuming the Gadget is malfunctioning.
Is There a Seed Storage Limit?
Yes.
You cannot carry an unlimited number of each Seed type.
The Seed Dispensary can hold up to:
20 Seeds of each type.
Once you reach the limit for a particular Seed, collecting more of the corresponding plant will not keep increasing that Seed count.
You can still collect the normal plant itself.
This can easily create the impression:
“My Seed Dispensary suddenly stopped working.”
when the real problem is simply:
you already have 20 of that Seed.
What Happens If You Already Have 20 Seeds?
Suppose you already have:
20 Sweet Flower Seeds
and then collect another Sweet Flower while the Seed Dispensary is equipped.
You can still obtain the Sweet Flower itself.
But you cannot add another Sweet Flower Seed beyond the storage limit.
So if one plant seems to have stopped giving Seeds while other supported plants still work, check the Seed count for that particular plant.
Does the 20-Seed Limit Apply to All Seeds Together?
No.
The limit is per Seed type.
For example, you can have:
20 Sweet Flower Seeds
and:
20 Mint Seeds
at the same time.
Having 20 of one Seed does not fill one universal Seed Dispensary inventory and prevent you from collecting every other type.
This is useful when gathering several different plants for your Serenitea Pot gardens.
Where Can You Check Your Seeds?
You can inspect the Seeds associated with the Seed Dispensary through your inventory and gardening-related interfaces.
If a specific plant is not producing another Seed, checking your current quantity is a useful troubleshooting step.
This is especially important if you have been gathering the same local specialty repeatedly.
You may have reached the limit without noticing.
Do Seeds Automatically Get Planted?
No.
Collecting a Seed only adds it to your available gardening resources.
You still need to return to your Serenitea Pot and plant it in an appropriate gardening field.
The Seed Dispensary does not automatically:
- plant Seeds
- choose a field
- grow the plant
- harvest the crop
Its job is to help you obtain Seeds while collecting supported plants in the open world.
Why Can’t I Plant the Seed I Collected?
Getting the Seed and being able to plant it are two different steps.
Different Seeds require different types of gardening fields in the Serenitea Pot.
The main field types include:
- A Path of Value: Jade Field
- A Path of Value: Luxuriant Glebe
- A Path of Value: Orderly Meadow
A Seed can only be planted in a compatible field.
So if the Seed Dispensary successfully gave you a Seed but the Serenitea Pot will not let you plant it in a particular field, the Seed Dispensary is not the problem.
Check whether you are using the correct field type.
Does the Seed Dispensary Work Inside the Serenitea Pot?
The important function of the Seed Dispensary is collecting Seeds from eligible plants while gathering them in the open world.
Inside the Serenitea Pot, you use the Seeds you already collected to grow plants in gardening fields.
You do not need the Seed Dispensary equipped simply to plant those Seeds.
Think of the process as two separate systems:
Open world → Seed Dispensary collects Seeds
then:
Serenitea Pot → gardening fields grow Seeds
Do You Need the Seed Dispensary Equipped When Harvesting Crops?
No.
The Seed Dispensary’s Seed-collection effect applies when collecting eligible plants in the open world.
Harvesting a crop you grew in the Serenitea Pot does not automatically create another Seed through the Seed Dispensary.
So you cannot create an endless self-sustaining loop by:
Plant one Seed
↓
Grow plant
↓
Harvest plant + replacement Seed
↓
Plant again forever
If you need more Seeds, you generally need to obtain them again through the appropriate Seed source.
Can You Buy Seeds Instead?
Yes.
Seeds used for gardening can also be obtained through the Realm Depot in the Serenitea Pot.
This means the Seed Dispensary is not necessarily your only way to obtain gardening Seeds.
However, collecting Seeds while gathering plants in the open world can be convenient because you receive the normal material at the same time.
If you are already farming a plant, equipping the Seed Dispensary lets that farming trip also prepare Seeds for gardening.
Why Am I Getting Plants but Not Seeds?
This is probably the clearest sign that you should check the Gadget.
If you are successfully collecting the plant itself but never receiving Seeds from eligible plants, first verify:
Is the Seed Dispensary actually equipped?
Simply unlocking or owning it does not activate the effect.
If it is equipped, then check:
Is this plant supported?
and:
Do I already have 20 of this Seed?
Those three checks solve most cases.
Why Did the Seed Dispensary Suddenly Stop Giving Me One Type of Seed?
If it worked earlier but stopped working for one particular plant, the storage limit is a likely explanation.
For example:
You collect Mint.
You receive Mint Seeds normally.
Later, Mint stops giving you additional Seeds.
But other supported plants still give Seeds.
Check whether you have reached:
20 Mint Seeds.
The Gadget itself has probably not stopped functioning.
That particular Seed type may simply be full.
Why Is the Seed Dispensary Equipped but Nothing Happens?
The Seed Dispensary does not create a large visual effect every time it works.
It is not a Gadget where you press a button and watch it scan the environment.
Its function is tied to collecting eligible plants.
So do not test it by simply standing somewhere and expecting the Gadget to do something.
Instead:
- Equip the Seed Dispensary.
- Find a supported plant.
- Collect the plant.
- Check whether you received its Seed.
That is the correct way to test it.
Is the Seed Dispensary Consumed When You Use It?
No.
The Seed Dispensary is a reusable Gadget.
Collecting Seeds does not destroy it.
You do not need to obtain another Seed Dispensary every time you collect a Seed.
Once you have unlocked the Gadget, you can continue equipping and using it whenever you want to gather gardening Seeds.
This makes it fundamentally different from consumable exploration Gadgets such as Oculus Resonance Stones.
Can You Unequip the Seed Dispensary?
Yes.
You can switch to another Gadget whenever you need it.
But remember:
Seed Dispensary not equipped = no Seed collection effect from eligible open-world plants.
So if you replace it with another Gadget while exploring and later start gathering plants, you may forget that the Seed Dispensary is no longer active.
That is one of the easiest ways to accidentally miss Seeds.
When Should You Equip the Seed Dispensary?
A convenient time is whenever you are intentionally farming plants that also have gardening Seeds.
For example, if you are collecting a large number of local specialties, equipping the Seed Dispensary can let you gather Seeds during the same route.
This is especially useful if you regularly use Serenitea Pot gardening.
If you never use gardening, keeping another Gadget equipped may be more useful for general exploration.

So, Why Isn’t Your Seed Dispensary Giving You Seeds?
In most cases, check these three things:
1. Equip the Seed Dispensary.
Owning it is not enough.
2. Collect a plant that actually has a supported gardening Seed.
Not every plant or collectible material produces Seeds.
3. Make sure you have not reached the 20-Seed limit for that type.
If those conditions are met, collecting an eligible plant should give you both:
the plant + its Seed.
The Seed Dispensary is not a scanner and does not need to be manually activated beside each plant.
Once equipped, it works as you collect supported plants.
So if you are gathering flowers but seeing no Seeds, start by opening your Gadget inventory.
There is a good chance the Seed Dispensary simply isn’t equipped.
